Gettin' Real
This might sound silly and maybe I am alone
in this fear, but for a long time I have held on to the fear of losing weight.
Right now you are thinking what is there to fear. Well it’s simple in my mind,
for most of my live I have been the “fat” friend, the one girl in the group
that was always larger than the rest. I
have accepted my role and played it rather well.
What I feared was becoming the friend who
was once fat, got fit and fat again. I don’t know how to be that person. I al... Continue reading ...

Gettin’ Real-Emotional Eater Workout
I will be the first to admit when things
get tough in life or I get stressed, I turn to food for comfort. It’s that one “friend”
that will never let you down. That is until you are done and realize what you
did and how guilty and worse you feel for allowing yourself to lose control.
However there now seems to be a more
powerful force in my life other then food. It’s the force and will to be
healthy and happy.
On Wednesday after already miss... Continue reading ...

There are things I can't function without, then there are
things I say I can't function without. The former is sleep, good food and
exercise, the latter is a cup of Tim Hortons coffee. I love the coffee, the smell,
the taste, but more likely I enjoy the social aspect of a cup of coffee. But
what I have noticed over the last little while is that as bad as a
double-double is for me, it's the temptation that comes along with it.
I'd love me a chocolate dipped or a walnut crunch, I might

I’ve been getting a lot of emails asking if we have fast solution to help with the shrinking the waist, hips and buns area… … while there is no quick fix (I don’t care what the infomercials claim) I did go to the drawing board and crafted a new 21 day rapid fat loss program that’s right up your alley – if you want fast results. You probably know that the semi-private sessions and boot camps at No Excuse Fitness are pretty much full, but we do have room for another small group so I t... Continue reading ...

Stories
I hope you’re doing good and that your meeting your health and fitness goals.
This past Monday I was catching up on some work at the Second Cup Westdale- nice place. Thankfully this place has internet so when i feel like getting out the the gym i can still be productive . So I found my seat, sat down, said hi to the lady seated next to me… did the obligatory small talk… and pulled out my laptop. And that’s when things got weird. When I logged on my site popped up and i decided to give it ... Continue reading ...

Sick Day
Well, I woke up Monday morning and my cold had knocked me on
my butt. I had been doing battle with it all weekend, almost losing my voice at
work on Sunday.
Monday, I couldn't even get out of bed, I haven't been that
sick in a long, long time. It was so bad, Eilish forced me to stay in bed and
cancel my workout.
She was right, of course.
But I noticed something strange happened, I was actually
feeling guilty that I was sick and missing a session. I understand this is

Target 195
A great workout today, still a little sick, but all in all,
a decent showing. Ryan had me doing “sleds” as part of my circuit (this little
number hails from the 7th ring of hell, I think). What are sleds,
you ask?
I'll explain in easy steps:
1.
Take a perfectly good step trainer platform
2.
Turn said platform upside down, fill with
weights
3.
Bend at waist
4.
Put hands on upside down platform
5.
Push length of the room
6.
Repeat step 5
Not ea... Continue reading ...

Gettin' Real
First Step: Gettin’ Real
Second Step: Gettin’ Real Fit
I have always been a proud card-carrying
member of club curvy-girl and since grade 11; always shopped in the plus size
sections of stores, or what I affectionately call the “fat girl” store. I
always told myself the number on the scale didn’t matter. It is about loving my
body and being happy in my skin.
But, we all know the number does matter. It
matters for the basic reason of the health concerns that arise, when that... Continue reading ...

7 Reasons Why You Can't Lose Weight Blocker #1: Your Mind
Your mind is your number one ally when it comes to achieving your goals. However, until your mind has been programmed for success, it will do more to derail your efforts than to help you.
- Take a few moments each day to visualize yourself at your ideal weight. Imagine how it feels to look the way you've always wanted.
- Protect your mind from any negative self talk. If a negative thought comes to mind, immediately reject it.
- You want to be th...

I knew I was in for it when before the workout, I mentioned
that I was no longer feeling any muscle pain. Ryan's response to that?
“That's unfortunate”
The warmup alone was enough to put me down, what followed
was even worse. Yet another situation where, to borrow from a boxing euphemism;
I led with my chin.
We started with a slow jog around the gym and graduated to
side steps, done twice so both legs had a chance to warm up, a little Polish
boxing, then we were ready to start... Continue reading ...

I decided on January 15, 2010 that it was time to get in shape. I told myself every January of my life that “I’m going to run a marathon!” For some reason or another, it was always put on the back burner year after year. I found excuses or reasons not to train for something I absolutely LOVED. This is ridiculous, I need to DO this. I knew that it would take hard work & training. This time I decided to have the mindset to achieve this goal.! With only 7 weeks to train for the... Continue reading ...

Target 195
I am a goal oriented guy, I like targets
and parameters, it allows me to know where I can operate and where I am going.
Goals are necessary for me to know exactly what I'm shooting for and to track
myself while I do it.
The primary goal for this will be to reach
my target weight of 195 lbs, be healthy and be fit.
But the more I think about it, a general
goal like that isn't good enough, it needs to be measurable and attainable.
That is both, sorta... 195 lbs, sure, I step on a scale a... Continue reading ...

Target 195
It all started with these 10 words:
“Ryan, I want to lose weight and blog about
it”
“My thoughts exactly” replied Ryan Rannelli
Ahhhh, kismet.
A few months ago, Ryan and I started this
journey, what started as some social media assistance has evolved into Target
195. Busy schedules, fight training, and a new job (on my part) kept this idea
from coming to fruition, that was until Thursday, March 4, 2010.
I had been rolling around an idea in my
brain, one that took ever... Continue reading ...

At some point in your life, you've probably heard that running at your target heart rate at a steady pace is the best way to burn fat - let's call this traditional cardio. While this may be true, it is time consuming and boring. I know because I've been there and I say this about traditional cardio because there is a much faster, more efficient way to challenge your fitness and burn fat!
